Prof. Carmen Piazzini comes from a well-known family of musicians in Buenos Aires. Concerts, radio, television, LPs and CDs aIl document the impressive solo career of Carmen Piazzini with a repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary music.
She has recorded more than 50 CDs, including complete recordings of Mozart (aII piano sonatas and piano concertos), Beethoven (aII piano concertos), Haydn (aII piano sonatas) and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (Songs without Words) as well as - straying a little from the classical here - "Piazzini plays Piazzolla". Her latest CD contains works by Schubert, Schumann and Brahms.
For many years she was professor for piano at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe.
In 1998 and again in 2009 Carmen Piazzini was awarded the prize of the Argentine press for best female pianist.
In 2001 she was awarded the prestigious Tortoni prize.
In 2007 she was nominated for a Grammy award together with Bernarda and Marcos Fink for her CD "Canciones Argentinas".
Carmen Piazzini regularly gives masterclasses in Europe and South America.
